The SNF Parkway Theatre is thrilled to partner with the Pride Center of Maryland to present the 2022 Baltimore Pride Film Festival. The Festival will take place June 21-23, 2022.

The common thread through these stories of acceptance and defiance are bold characters and identity defining moments. These tales of romance, reconciliation, and revenge showcase a variety of non-heterosexual voices running the gamut of human emotions.

Wednesday, June 22 — BALTIMORE LIVING ARCHIVES, PRIDE ELDERS EDITION | 7PM | FREE
Baltimore Living Archives artist in residence, SHAN Wallace conceived of this program featuring two heroes of Baltimore’s queer past and present alongside images and clips from their personal archives. Andre Powell and Louis Hughes Jr., two elders who are full of knowledge and have made many contributions to Baltimore’s ongoing LGBTQ history will share photos from their experiences and engage in a moderated conversation with the audience. Celebrate LGBTQ PRIDE by hearing from these pioneering gay elders who have been committed to Baltimore’s LGBTQ community for decades.

Thursday, June 22 — MOONLIGHT (2016) | 7PM | $11.50
Immediately heralded as a new masterwork of the queer cinema, this 2016 favorite directed by Barry Jenkins tells the tender, heartbreaking story of a young man’s struggle to find himself, told across three defining chapters in his life as he experiences the ecstasy, pain, and beauty of falling in love, while grappling with his own sexuality. Based on the play In Moonlight Black Boys Look Blue by Tarell Alvin McCraney, this deeply personal and poetic movie is best enjoyed on a big screen where its quiet beauty can best be appreciated.
