ARTIST PROJECTS

Baltimore Living Archives was an artist residency that invited Baltimoreans to craft and showcase media-based stories alongside two Baltimore artists with archiving practices, SHAN Wallace and Lawrence Burney. SHAN and Lawrence developed their own work and worked with the community to share skills and stories through a number of participatory programs. Members of the community shared their stories, explored and contextualized archives, and enjoyed the findings of SHAN and Lawrence.

As the pandemic started, the SNF Parkway in partnership with Park School alumni and Baltimore filmmakers, educators, and community organizations invited young people to share video diaries about their daily lives during these extraordinary months. Young people created and submitted short movies capturing their experiences from summer 2020 through summer 2021. Baltimore Chronicles provided an outlet for Baltimore youth to share their stories and experiences while learning the craft of filmmaking.
