The Italian summer of 1983 was hot in so many ways. At first Elio and Oliver seem to have little in common, but the soon develop a passionate bond. The final installment in director Luca Guadagnino’s “Desire Trilogy,” Call Me By Your Name is a visually rich examination of young love and loss.

🌈🎬 OUT LOUD is here! Up first, is Marlon Riggs’ Tongues Untied.

Join us October 18 at 6:30p for this powerful screening.

As director Marlon Riggs explained, “Tongues United was motivated by a singular imperative: to shatter America’s brutalizing silence around matters of sexual and racial difference.” Quickly becoming a flashpoint in public debates around race, sexuality, and public decency, Riggs’ masterful experimental documentary clearly accomplished this goal. Movingly poetic, erotic, angry and beautiful, Tongues Untied destroys longstanding myths surrounding what it means to be a black gay man.

    Year: 1990
    Runtime: 55 minutes
    Language: English
