The JHU-MICA Film Centre is the site of two world class institutions’ film-training and research programs. The Film Centre was established in 2015 to house four academic film programs that share resources and build curricular collaborations, so that they become a Baltimore filmmaking resource and have a far-reaching impact on global cinema cultures.
Through media arts education, Wide Angle Youth Media collaborates with and amplifies the voices of Baltimore youth to engage audiences across social divides. Our programs inspire creativity and instill confidence in young people, supporting them to navigate school, career, and life. Since 2000, Wide Angle Youth Media has worked with over 7,790 youth from across Baltimore City who have produced thousands of media projects about their lives and communities.
The mission of Sweaty Eyeballs Animation is to showcase unique, experimental and diverse voices in the field of animated filmmaking with a focus on innovation in craft, storytelling and work that questions preconceived notions of what animation can and should be. We love independent animation, and we love Baltimore. Get ready to join us in combining the two! Sweaty Eyeballs Animation Festival fosters a community of animation lovers and creators in the mid-Atlantic region and allows a venue for often overlooked work to be seen on the big screen.
The mission of the Maryland Film Festival (MdFF) is to bring films, filmmakers, and audiences together in a friendly, inclusive atmosphere that reflects the unique aspects of our community, while participating in and adding to the larger film dialogue across the country and across the world. Film for Everyone.
